Celebrating Indigenous Business Education: Graduating Ch’nook Scholars 2019

CPABC is a proud sponsor of the Ch’nook Scholars Program, supporting indigenous students with scholarship and community activities.

On Friday Jun 14, 2019, the CPABC Student Recruitment Team attended the Ch’nook 2019 Graduation at UBC First Nations Longhouse, Point Grey Campus. Together they celebrated the graduation of 15 Aboriginal Management Program students and 14 graduating scholars from:

  • BCIT
  • North Island College
  • Thompon Rivers University
  • UNBC
  • University of British Columbia
  • University of Calgary
  • University of the Fraser Valley
  • Vancouver Island University

The event was emceed by Dr. Sheryl Lightfoot (UBC Sauder School of Business) and commenced by Elder Doris Fox (cultural representative for the Musqueam Indian Band), welcoming guests to the traditional lands of the Musqueam people.

Tsatsu Stalqayu Coastal Wolfpack (Coast Salish Territories) opened the Formal Ceremony by performing traditional canoe and celebration dances.

Tasha Brooks (Cowichan Tribes) delivered a keynote address on her career and development as an Indigenous Education Navigator and PhD candidate.
