Students from Kwantlen Polytechnic University present their business case at the CPABC Case Competition 2016.

The annual Chartered Professional Accountants of BC (CPABC) Case Competition gives post-secondary students from all over the province an opportunity to develop their case analysis and presentation skills, compete, have fun, and earn cash prizes.

The first round of the competition took place in February 2016, when more than 30 teams from nine post-secondary campuses in BC competed for a spot in the final round of the competition. The finalists from each school competed in the finals in Vancouver to claim the top prize.

The post-secondary schools that took part in the final competition include,

  • University of British Columbia – Okanagan
  • Camosun College
  • Kwantlen Polytechnic University
  • University of the Fraser Valley
  • Trinity Western University

In order to win, the teams, consisting of three or four students, took part in a competition which required them to apply the enabling competencies which are essential to the CPA program:

  • Professional and ethical behaviour
  • Problem-solving and decision-making
  • Communication
  • Self-management
  • Teamwork and leadership

We would like to congratulate all the participating teams and all the individual students for making the CPABC Case Competition one to remember.
